Yellow/ brown water

We are on ArrowWood and I wanted to know if anyone else has having a problem with the water color today?
I did not see any sign's posted saying they would be flushing the lines today.

Thanks

I live on the upper end - my water is ok. Is it the hot water or the cold water? If it's your hot water, maybe there is rust in your hot water tank.

JP is right, if it's in the hot water, it's likely that it may be time for a new hot water tank. If it's original on Arrowwood your way overdue, I wouldn't wait too long, when I owned homes on Arrowwood, I had one actually burst so I changed that one obviously, and changed another in the adjoining unit just for safety sake. Sort of like when one headlight on a car goes bad, you might as well change them both.

Thanks for the info. It was both hot and cold. Someone just got back to me from the water company. They are having a problem, it should be taken care of soon. Thank god it's not the water heater we replaced it three years ago.

Thanks again for your help.

Here's some FYI for you . If the water company has a break almost anywhere in the system it will disturb any sediment in there lines. Also, if they have to close off a section or open up a seldom used feed it will also disturb the sediment. I've been a Utilities Engineer for NYS for over 25 years and this is on on going problem. Below is a pic. of what it looks like when we blow down the lines.

I'm hysterical! Jim I love that photo!
BTW. I have a client that's in need of a small section of tex 111 replacement right on your steet. In the worst case it may need a new footer placed in if the moisture has damaged it as well. I'll give you a call Sunday before I start calling some other contractors next week as it's close to you and you may be interested in the job.
Patty as far as your rusty water, I think Forester has it right! And the water company was honest with you.

Merry,
Jump in the shower ASAP, if you're lucky and don't dry yourself off, you'll have a great tan and look like you just returned from a southern vacation! Just like the old hair color commercials used to say, "only you and your hairdresser will know for sure"....only this time you and your plumber will know for sure! Smile
