The cars are awfully loud tonight, but there are other very loud races on occasional Fridays. Wait a minute, this isn't Friday, it's Thursday. Did the noiseway get a special permit to run races on a day other than Friday this week?

Really loud. The fireworks (I assume it was at the noiseway) we the loudest ever. Woke-up our sleeping infant, and her older brother. Sent the dog running for cover as well.

LOUD!!

I heard they were at the noiseway too. The noise level depends on which way the wind is blowing. Some nites are worse than others. Does this mean there are races tonight, too?

Speedway = Rednecks

Rednecks = Nationalism

As a result, 4th of July = July 3rd through the 7th. Thus, fireworks and cars driving in circles are essencial for the preservation of our 'freedom'.

AMERICA... F**K YEAH!

P.S. Happy 4th everyone!

The noise from the Speedway may be louder due to all the trees being cut down for the new office buildings. The trees buffered some of the sound. I'm all for progress but I'm getting fed up with Malta's vision.

Right now Malta's vision is a nightmare. What ever happened to the "rural" feeling that Mr. Meager wanted to keep.

Malta lost the rural grant's it used to get. If you want rural you have to move out of Malta.

Progress is all around us. There is no getting away from it. Although when I visited friends in Burnt Hills on the 4th I noticed not much building going on along Rt 50.

I am afraid the rural feeling in Malta was lost when the forest was cut down to build houses back in the '80s. It's still a wonderful place to live but no longer the country community it once was. Progress isn't going to hurt Malta. We just get used to each new thing that comes along.

We only have to get used to it if we continue to live in Malta. I am probably in the minority in that I don't believe AMD will substantially increase residential property values in Malta. That's just the "bull" we were given to graciously accept AMD. I personally don't want to live in a factory town. If and when AMD comes to our area, I plan on moving further north.

The speedway ran on Thursday night as friday was the 4th of July. I was at the races - there were no modifieds, just sportsman class - which usually is not as loud.

Yes - they also had a great fireworks show to celebrate America's birthday!

I personally don't have an issue with the speedway. Malta Speedway was here before I moved in. Actually, I look forward to the sound as the beginning of the warm weather and spring and summer. If racing were every night of the week - I might have an issue. But I can comfortably live with one night a week.
