I saw this article in the Spotlight:

The town is looking to sell the former John Michalko house located at 584 Eastline Road to an owner able to relocate it. The town bought the land it sits on in 2006 in order to make way for recreational uses, and the house is in the way.

The full article is here:

  • Is this the broken-down house at the intersection of Eastline and Rt. 67?

  • What "recreational use" is planned for the area. I like this idea.

Thanks!

The house is on Eastline, north of the intersection with Brownell. I don't exactly remember the acreage, but there is room for a few fields and maybe a dog park. We're still looking into possibilities.

Thanks so much for your quick reply!

Dog park is okay, people park is much better. Much rather have swings or a basketball court than poop.

We have friends moving to a development just north of there on Eastline and there is no (safe) walkable way to Shenentahah (quite a long walk too, if it were possible). This might be a great alternative, especially if eventually there was a walking path like on Dunning.

Thanks again.

Clifton Park and Saratoga both have dog parks. Because our local parks do not allow dogs in the parks, a dog park would be very much welcomed. Now days, most if not all dog owners pick up after their dogs. Sounds like a great idea.

Dog owners DO NOT pick up after their dogs. At least not on Arrowwood. Just last week I ran my lawnmower over a pile of poop that I didn't see. Some dog owners are good about picking up but lately I've seen alot of doggie do along the road and of course, alway at the edge of someone's yard. Plain laziness. Yes, I'm complaining again. Please clean up after your dog, we shouldn't have to.

I completely agree. I had to avoid a steaming pile yesterday while I was mowing my lawn. A few months ago, I stepped in a pile of dog crap in my driveway! On my run this morning I had to sidestep at least 2 piles in the road. I don't understand why it is so difficult to clean up after your dog.

Yes, that would bother me also. It may be because over on your neck of the woods there are renters. Renters often do not take as much pride as homeowners do. We have many dogs in our development and we have lived here over 4 years and not ONCE have I seen any dog remains. I'm sure that dog owners in this county would be respectful of a dog park and clean up after their dogs. Unfortunately, not everyone is responsible in almost all situations in life. Just a few bad apples....
