Yeah, but thats the market demand I suppose. Americans don't want to be free, that takes responsibility and vigilance. Whatever I supposed.

At least two-thirds of our miseries spring from human stupidity, human malice and those great motivators and justifiers of malice and stupidity: idealism, dogmatism and proselytizing zeal on behalf of religous or political ideas.

I think, for all to be fair, there are two others who need to be pictured up there...Billary, and Obama. Remember the vast right wing conspiracy of Hillary? And, she voted for the War origionally, and has not taken that back...although she now feels it is politically correct to do so. Obama, just has no clue. Obama as the commander in chief!!!
John Mcain is a War hero...although I don't support most of his views. Huckabee is a former Minister, and Govenor, who had 80% approval rating as a Rebublican when he left Ark. Romney is a Christian man, who was a Govenor, and was incredibly successful in running the Utah Olympics. Ron Paul has some great views as a Liberatarian, but is nieve on foreign policy.
Any one of the men pictured above is vastly superior in experience to those pictured above.
Duped? No, I would say those following the Clinton Machine again are being duped!

I'm not usually very politcal, but I have to give credit to what happened with the republicans. Huckabee seems to have remained in the race as a Romney vote taker. If I had to guess we likely will see a McCain/Huckabee ticket on the republician side. You'll note there hasn't been much negative McCain remarks from him.

On the other side unless some one digs up some real last minute dirt, it looks like a coin toss. It was interesting how Clinton took Mass. in spite of the Kennedy endorsement. I found that somewhat of a surprise.

I thought it was a good come uppance for the Kennedys. Hillary also took California where Scwarzinegger & the Mrs. rallied for Obama. I guess "they" aren't as influencial as they thought. I laughed. Razz

TRUE....interesting how they split their support.

When I was a child, husband and wife tended to support the same person, I guess we are in a new era.

Quick question Hugh,

And just for my own curiosity and edification.

How's the local housing market doing in comparison to the rest of the country, if not the rest of the State?

The local market is not nearly as poor as many parts of the country. My guess is because we didn't get the big swing up either like Florida, California or Las Vegas. The last half of 2007 was very poor locally but I'm seeing improvement now as I think sellers are finanally getting more realistic in their pricing. I was finding that sellers in 2007 still weren't willing to price competitively as the media was turning out such mixed messages. Now in 2008, the sellers have realized that their home's value have dropped from the high's and are pricing to reflect that. There are buyers, but they have a lot of inventory to look at and they don't rush to a decision like they did. Mortgage's have also become more difficult to obtain and that has taken a lot of potential buyers out of the arena as well. But if you can get a mortgage, we're at historic lows for a 30 year fixed.

Okay good to know,

I was talking with my parents about possibly jointly purchasing a local property for rental purposes. They seemed to think that within the next six months would be a good time to buy due to home values and mortgage rates.

But from what you're saying it seems they're right.
