Word on the street is that Dem Rick Morse is working with Sausville to block a Democrat endorsement for Nolen. More games...thanks for nothing Rick!

I support Morse in this move, if true. He is staying true to his principles. While endorsing Nolen would give the party name recognition and a strong candidate, it wouldn't make her a Democrat. If she were to win in the general election, her policy and philosophy would still be Republican. The Malta Democrats should pick a Democrat as their candidate.

If Nolen wants to run for Supervisor, she should challenge Sausville in the primary to earn the Republican line in November.

Leme see-a couple of good ole white boys workin together to keep a woman from runnin the show? And the problem with that is???
I'm kidding.
Actually, I think Rick is simply running for Supervisor slot as a breath of fresh air candidate. He will be espousing an open, transparent form of town governance not seen in these parts in a while! Look for upcoming 'meet the candidates' events as we move closer to election time.

Hey QB!
I like the noseeum comparison to politicians in general. Aren't they they those nearly invisible really annoying insects?
I used to live down south where chiggers were our nearly invisible annoying insect. Only with chiggers you could really do some damage to yourself itching and scratching to the point of bleeding but it sure did feel good! Pretty much what a good politician could achieve-getting us to bleed for their benefit!

The only person worried should be SDN herself....I mean how much money is she going to spend to lose?

Based on how Nolen carries herself here - it would be a grave injustice to this town if she got elected Supervisor

If anyone is foolish enough to vote for a candidate based on dialog from this message board, they deserve what they get. Anyone could have said they were Sue Nolen here. For all you know, she's never even seen this board. For all we know, you're Sausville!
This board just provides a forum for silly bantering, biased opinions and easy target practice!

Roy, do you really believe there has been a distinct Republican policy and philosophy on the town board in little old Malta? We're not talking national politics here. We're talking about a small community currently run by a dictator. I'll take a REPODEMO any day over that!

At a local level, Republicans have a reputation for being more business friendly than Democrats. Nolen is quite definitely business friendly; even more than Sausville. However, you are correct in that the lines between parties blur the more local you get.

Your comment about a dictator is just plain wrong. The Supervisor position is not a Mayor. He is the mouthpiece for the town and leads the meetings, but it takes a majority vote on the board to do just about anything. He can't make unilateral decisions. Unless you are saying that the board as a whole acts like a dictatorship, but I don't see how you could make that leap either.

Roy - I have heard from people working inside the Town that Comrade Sausville is a bit more dictator like than you give him credit for. I hear that nearly every external email and piece of correspondence from Town Staff and Department Heads must go through Paul before it leaves the Town Hall. The charges of rampant micromanagement on his part of his department heads are also out there.....

Planner, don't forget about the division within the Malta Republican party, so I think you have to take everything you hear with a grain of salt.Management styles and personality clashes are quite different than dictatorships.

Ok, how about autocratic, imperious, dogmatic, overbearing, doctrinaire...any one will fit the bill!

I don't know, Unholy. Maybe between us we could think of someone who fits the bill, especially the overbearing part.
