My guess is that because the debate was being organized and sponsored by the Malta Business and Professional Association - a group that Nolen helped found, Sausville probably didn't think it would be a fair debate.
Maybe he would reconsider if the debate were hosted and moderated by an independent group not linked to one of the candidates (The Saratogian, for instance).
I am not against Nolen, but the site needs an editor. Under the "About Sue" tab it says:
* Key member of Malta's Team to create the plan for Global Foundries to invest billions of dollars in Malta--and great thousands of jobs.
What is "great thousands of jobs"? Also, the intermittent use of periods is strange. Headlines that are not sentences like "An experienced public servant and small business owner." have periods while asterisked items under that headline are hit and miss. The site just needs an eye for detail to review it before the content is published.
Under the breaking news article, did "Sausville back out on the scheduled debate" or did he "back out of the scheduled debate”? Of course, it is possible it just reads funny to me because it is not my style.
I am not saying I’m perfect, but I also don’t publish content on my campaign website. While I wouldn’t tear a babysitter’s head off for having poor grammar in a post on this site, I do find it annoying to say the least when I find grammar errors in books (especially books), newspapers, professional documents, and professional websites.
