Or are we slowly moving towards Some kind of second "Gulf of Tonkin" involving Iran.

And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars.

President Achmammrjtwjwoeifja;sdifj is more biligerent a leader than Hitler! I don't think the US or anyone else has to manufacture this threat. Hopefully someone shots him from within his own country before he sends the middle east into nuclear war.

Merry, You probably think I'm a rush-to-war type....but I truly think that a prenptive strike on Iran, regardless of how dangerous that country is, would be a mistake. I think the one lesson learned this decade that: it is better to let yourself be attacked first, then to try to attack in order to prevent it.
I also find history increibly interesting, and I think we will see something very ugly and major come out of Iran; specifically a nuclear attack on Israel, upon which Israel will turn the entire Middle East into glass.
Believe me, I do not want a war with Iran, as much as I think they deserve a good butt-kicking....but I absolutely think they will start the next world war. IMHO.

Mike, I hope you were being facetious with your first post, because that was the exact attitude which led us to war in Iraq.

SHO, we are not going to war with Iran because our troops are too tied up in Iraq right now, and by the time they aren't, Obama the dove will be in office. It is much tidier and less expensive to outsource that conflict to Israel, which I'm sure we'll continue to do.

Wow! No bias on that site. Roll Eyes

SHO, you should try to get your news from reputable, impartial news outlets. IPS is not one of them.

Unbiased or impartial like...

CNN? or Fox News??

hahaha

P.S. I think the "mainstream" media has allready prooved itself to be not reputable. Unless yellow journalism is considered reputable these days.

Roy,
Actually I was serious with my first post; although the threat is to Israel, as Acmaahsd;ofiha keeps stating that the day is near before they are wiped off the map. Like I said, I am not a proponent for war with Iran now, considering our situation in Iraq.
Iraq was a case of entering the war and then people saying: "see, we shouldn't have". I truly believe that Iran will prove to be the situation of NOT entering into war and people saying: "see, we should have". History will prove me right or wrong. Either way, it will be ugly.

See, the problem is that people can't distinguish news from editorial and commentary. AP and Reuters provide news with as little opinion and as much fact as possible. CNN and Fox provide Newsertainment with as much opinion and as little fact as possible. Then there is this IPS site which seems to be closer to the National Enquirer than anything else. Replace Aliens with Neo-Cons and the devil with Cheney and voila! They are the same.
