Yes , but the vets parade was so low key, it was easy to miss. Polisci...you are too funny...you start off saying that you are "No supporter of SDN", yet you go on to sing her praises and practically stop short of endorsing her. I also find it interesting that there are no Richard Morse signs in sight but you can find the Demopublican chair Cynthia Young's signs lined up with Nolen's write in signs....you dont have to be too bright to get that message...my question is, Why would demchair Young even give Morse the nod to run then abandon him for the republican castoff?...
|
Bob S - Rick Morse was not endorsed by the Democratic Party in Malta, he simply holds the Democratic Party line for Supervisor in the upcoming election. Big difference.
|
Since I have personally placed many Cynthia Young signs, I can tell you that Cynthia's signs were set in place BEFORE Nolen's. So, obviously Bob, you're not "too bright." You know what they say about people who "assume."

Rude! | ||||

Planner...a few months back you told this chatroom that the dems had interviewed a few people including SDN for the Dem supervisors line......so are you now telling me that the committee didnt give Richard Morse the line, he simply took it and ran? Because if so, I am laughing my anal pore off and choking on my own spittle with glee. That is a real knee slapper!
|
Nolen and Young are close compatriots, so say what you will, but "to thine own self be true!" also you are assuming something yourself by inserting the Bob S. moniker into your posts. so, you know what they say about people who Assume.

I would think that calling you Bob would be better than what others call you on here (maltahack). Yes the committee did interview both SDN and Rick this past summer but endorsed no candidates. Any person can be put on a ballot line if they file the correct petitions and have enough valid signatures on that petition to be placed on the ballot. A local committee endorsement has really nothing to do with whether or not you appear on a ballot. That is also why there are primaries in instances where there is one endorsed candidate and one non-endorsed candidate.

OK kids, let's reel it back in... Planner: I know, I am your Assistant Governor There was a vet. parade this year and a large event had been planned, including the singing of the National Anthem and Fireworks at the racetrack. The weather simply didn't cooperate and it was downscaled at the last min. When the MBPA called the board of elections before the primary, we were told then that there were only 2 people "registered" for the supervisor seat - Paul and Sue. We were shocked there was no dem. candidate listed. We had hoped to get together with the league of women voters prior to the primary and set up a meet the candidates night or a debate (polite debate) but it never came to fruition. It was too last min and all the candidates need to be there to make it work. If this board is an adequate representation of the population of Malta, then it's fairly obvious that few are in favor of Paul winning. I am confused as to how he got through the primary (even if it was by just under 100 votes). While I know Sue is running a write in campaign, I was not aware anyone else was in the race. And here I thought I was paying attention. Is it possible to start a new post with a list of all the candidates who are running, position, and where they stand on the issues at hand... Downtown Plan, New School, etc.. so we can all get a concise view? On the bright side, I read through the planning board min. from last night and it looks like everything was approved. Now, whether it all moves forward is another story.
|
And an excellent district governor you are! I would have been at the MBPA mixer, but I have a baseball practice with the team I coach, so the kids win out... Perhaps Rick as the Dem candidate was not listed because there was no Democratic Primary? This might be a cause but I am not sure. I can't speak for Rick but I thought his petitions were accepted by the State Board of Elections. I did see a few of his signs up recently. I believe the fine folks on the MBPA program committee are trying to set up one more meet the candidates night/polite debate for before the general election, but I'm not sure if they have had any success yet.

Assistant DG - I don't want John's job yet. As far as I know a meet the candidates night is not going to happen due to lack of venue... It was discussed, but I have not seen it go anywhere yet. The board of elections was called prior to the rep. primary - he may have gotten on the list since then, but I don't know for sure.
