All registered republicans, don't forget to vote in the primary today!!!
You bet we will !!
Just dont be crying too loudly when the votes are counted. |
I think we're all going to be surprised! |
My only wish was for each candidate to list what they would like to do for the town. Sue did a lot of smear campaigning.
Sausville listed what he had accomplished. Nothing was said about what they are planning for the future of Malta. Such a
shame. I go to the primary not knowing who to vote for. Only Tom Adriance will be getting my vote for sure.
For me the biggest issue is the vision for downtown as proposed in the master plan. Sue is for a higher density downtown and
Paul is more towards spreading business around the town more.
Not that I can vote today anyway ... |
Thanks Maggie. You just helped me make up my mind. Anyone else have any info they would like to share? |
JP, you've been on this board for a very long time. I find it hard to believe that you don't know what the candidate's represent. I think you simply take a passive-aggressive approach to smearing Nolen - just like your post above. Either you're dense or stubborn, I'm not sure which. Nolen wants progress and a commercial base in Malta's downtown - as designed by the experts. Sausville wants a hamlet, with sprawl, as designed by Clifton Parks planners. What more do you need to know? |

Thanks QB. You also answered my question. And you know what? I'll vote for whomever I d??? well please! |
QB, hopefully whoever loses the primary will continue to run as an independent for the general election, so that there will
be a debate. I'd really like to hear the candidates views directly from each candidate, in a debate setting. They both want
progress from what i gather.

Not an option DA! Instead of thinking indepedently the Independents & Conservatives sniffed along behind the republicans and p**sed on the same fire hydrant. |

If I were republican I would vote for Sue as well. I think it is important as a Supervisor to follow the well thought out
and probably expensive Town of Malta Comprehensive Plan. The important thing to remember is that development is going to
happen in Malta no matter how we look at the issue. The key issue will be how the development plays out. The answer from
Paul about "keeping Malta rural" by spreading out low density development is both not feasible and not sustainable. If we
do not concentrate development, it will sprawl like QB said earlier. The result will be a more developed Malta. I know we
do not want Malta to be a Clifton Park or even maybe a Saratoga, but Malta will continue to grow and change, and we will have
to pick on of those aforementioned communities to emulate. We can not simply remain the way we are now. It is not fair to
the current tax base to turn away commercial development. I personally want companies coming in to lessen the burden on the
taxpayer. Furthermore, it would be illegal for the Town of Malta to prevent landowners under the current zoning from developing
their property as the zoning currently allows. Over the past 23 years as a Malta resident, we have changed a lot from the
Stewarts and the Pizza place on the four corners to what we now have downtown. Paul's blatant disregard for the comprehensive
plan is extremely worrisome and paints a scary picture of the Town of Malta. Sorry for the rant, but I believe that smart
growth with hamlet density is the smart way to go for all communities. It's really the only way to prevent sprawl into the
actual rural portions of Malta.....

Thank you Planner! The important thing that every Republican needs to know is that if you don't vote today and Sue Nolen
Doesn't win - we get the same old stuff from Sausville for the next 2 years. He can do a lot of damage over a two year period!
He's already talked about a downtown moratorium. Crazy!!! Sue is not on the ballot for November under any other party. If
your not a Republican make sure you talk to your Republican friends and get them out to vote for our future!

sucks to be the unendorsed then doesnt it?....hahahahahah |
Sucks to be left to the intellectual devices of a republican, conservative, or "Independence"... whatever that is.
don't worry, your's is coming. |

Whitey,
You are incredible! If someone doesn't have the same socialist belief systems as you, they're an idiot? Everything liberal=correct and smart; Everything conservative=dumb/wrong. That makes it easy- you don't have to reason or apply logic to any of your arguements or thoughts, you just have to claim the differing opinion is becuase of idiocy. Well, at least you finally came out and just said it. Now we know what you're all about. |
I apply reason and logic to everything. If you don't understand, ask. If you disagree, you're either stupid or evil. It's even easier than you just stated. If your goal is to disarm me, you won't do it the way that your gods of News Corp outshout the reasonable, logical, sensible, and informed voices of society. I'm also not a socialist, but theirs is a more virtuous cause that whatever bastardization of justice your religion of capitalism claims to provide. |
