I see that the Malta Republicans have also endorsed Margaret Ruisi for town council. On the Republican web page, it says that Ruisi plans on creating jobs in Malta... I want to know how?

Her experience is lacking... she "studied" archeology at SUNY Albany. What does that mean?

And, she lives in Northway Eleven... is that even considered Malta? It's not within the Ballston Spa School District, that I know for sure. So, when the Town Board has to work with the Ballston Spa CSD on the location or desirability of an elementary school in Malta, Ms. Ruisi has no vested interest... her kids go to Shen schools.

So, let's see, the Republicans have put forth two candidates that have very little vested with our Town...

That's right, they just want to use them as pawns for their own agenda.

Maggi Ruisi has never owned her own business or even her own house for that matter, how can she know how we as taxpayers feel?

As far as John Hartzell is concerned, he ought to go back to Jefferson County or whereever he came from as that is where all of his money backing is coming from. He is a lawyer and all he does is talk you to sleep.

Having done my own fact investigation on her (via Google stalking - lol), it would appear that she is also friends with Sausville's granddaughter. Does anyone know if that's true?

Didn't someone on this site say before that they looked at her facebook page before and it was a shrine to Sarah "yee haw" Palin and overthrowing the Barack Obama presidency? She's quite the seditionist....

She is a town employee, I believe working as a part time court clerk. She is also on the trails committee with good ol' girl Tara Thomas. When I think of Tara and Maggie and Flo, the image of them drinking booze on TV during the Tedisco "Victory" party comes to mind....my my did they count their chickens before they hatched......

Ruisi = No Qualifications to serve on a Town Board

It was me. She also was a member of the "we surround them" Glenn Beck group, and tons of other groups that would indicate questionable ability to discern reality and fantasy. She took her page private after the report- fatty is reading the board.

Being a woman myself, I'm sorry but I cannot see a woman running for town supervisor. There's a lot at stake here with Global Foundries coming in. Women are too emotional. The town board can't get along now. Do you actually think it will be any different? I have yet to see what their "promises" are. As far as Tom Adriance - I'll vote to keep him in. He's always done a great job as far as I'm concerned. You know at least what you have, but you don't know what you'll get if you put someone else in. You people ***** and complain no matter what goes on. I'll be glad when this election is over.

Do you think its the women on the town board who don't get along? Have you been to a meeting?

My goodness I thought we fought this gender battle years ago - sigh

Saratoga County has many succesful female supervisors, including Mindy Wormuth, Joann Yepsen, Anita Daly, Mary Ann Johnson, Jean Raymond and I guess we can include the turncoat Patti Southworth....Round Lake's maor is also a female - Dixie Lee Sacks.

Ruisi isn't running for supervisor though. I think Nolen could hold her own with the above mentioned supervisors....

[Lifting my jaw off the ground]... What a shocking comment to make? I'm sorry that you feel that way JP and I feel bad that you haven't had any strong female role models in your life. When a man says that, I know they feel insecure and scared, but when a woman says that, it puts us back fifty years!

It's like this... when a woman is strong, people call her a bit$%@. When a man is strong, he is called a tough leader. When a woman is passionate and articulate about her position, she is called emotional. When a man does the same thing, he is called sensitive... Let's dispense with the double standard here. This is 2009, not 1889.

I recall one town board meeting where Sausville had one of his cronies come in and rant and rage at Nolen, spitting and pacing in front of her and she never flinched. His cause - he wanted his assessment lowered and had talked with every other board member except Sue to get it lowered. She refused to meet with him and told him he needed to go through the process just like everyone else! He was a HUGE...AH supporter of TT and Sausville. This is the type of stuff that you get from Sausville. Behind the scene setups.

And you probably wanted Sarah Palen in there, too. Not every woman is suited for government. I don't think Sue would get the respect that's needed to run a town. No more than Sausville does. This is a sad situation.

You are right that not every woman (or man) is suited for public office - but certainly Sue is. She has been involved in local government a long time. There are certainly many reasons to not vote for you - she has a strong position on important issues such as the central downtown issue - if you don't want to vote for her do it on the issues - not on her gender. My goodness that is just so sad that this topic is even coming up in 2009.
Maggie, still sighing...

I'm still trying to find out why I should vote for either one. Where do I find the issues each one is campaigning for? Nothing has been sent to me in the mail. I AM a registered voter.

Nope... definitely not a fan of Sarah Palen... Contrary to stereotypical belief, women do not vote based upon uterine-sisterhood alone.

UNHOLY:

Why is it so difficult to find men who are caring, sensitive, and good-looking?

They already have boyfriends.
