Just Maggie, please be sure to advertise this in all the local newspapers. We need some Dems on the Board!

You may want Dems QB, but chances are there wont be any actual Dems running on the Dem ticket.....Mary Pasquarel was the last actual Dem to serve the town in any official capacity.

Can't we count on Cynthia Young to run for Town Clerk again?

It's just a matter of time MaltaManiac. Look at Colonie, a Republican stronghold. Run by a Dem now. Klotz is basically a Dem, he just doesn't know it.

I remember the town historian ullrich/gay switched from Dem to Repub so she could get the job as town historian...so yes DA there are a few switch hitters in the Malta scene..its too bad you cant get the job by being who you are and not who you arent..thats our town though.

I don't see that comparison at all. Alf Landon lost by a landslide for President. Cynthia Young came extremely close to winning the Town Clerk election which is quite remarkable in this town. I am hoping she will run again and win this time.

Unfortunately for you, I am married to a wonderful woman, so no switch hitting here...I don't remember you ever bringing up your marital status, so if anyone is the switch hitter, it's you......

Mags...The comparison is not by how many votes were cast, the comparison is the amount of times run and lost. CY has lost at least three times right? Alf lost every time as well.

Malts, I thought Alf Landon ran once against FDR.(but it was a while ago so I may not remember correctly)
Cynthia Young has run 3 times and each time has been closer to beating an incumbent republican in a republican town. She really deserves a lot of credit.

Alf was the considered the perennial candidate who ran every election from FDR to Johnson. He wasnt the nominee after the Roosevelt election but his hat was always in the ring.

I can't speak to the question of why the Saratoga Co. Dem. Committee has provided little or no support to Malta candidates. What I can say, however, is that I have attended the last 3 Malta Democratic committee meetings and have become excited about the fact that we are getting more and more participants each time. Because of the participation level, I can tell you that Malta residents will have more of a choice in who to vote for this election year... and isn't it about time!

I would expect that the more active the Malta Democratic committee becomes, the more support we will see from the county committee.

Where have the County representation been in recent years? I've heard Larry Bulman has some kind of deal with the Republicans where he refuses to challenge Republicans here. A Dem ran against Paul Sausville a few years ago and Larry was no where to be found. I also recall a Democratic woman from Round Lake ran for Town Council but could get zero support from Larry. She still almost won that race.

DA - I'm sorry - that is the first I have heard of this so can't explain anything. I got involved recently because I am really hoping to help get some new people into town positions.

As a voter - i'm sick of the nasty campaigns - it turns me off to both of them.
Tedisco - Murphy
Sweeney - Gillibrand
McGaughey - uh ...the other guy

Just run on what you stand for - talk yourself up and your accomplishments - leave the negative stuff out of it ....with all the negative stuff ...i tend to vote for the lesser of the two evils and not based on the positive

[Sue Nolen vs. Paul Sausville]

Klotzy himself could make a good run,and would be the best choice of all of the above if he switched parties and ran as a real democrat instead of a toiletpaper democrat.
