He Was a great funny guy. Sorry he is gone! He will be missed. He had a good handle on the ridiculous things we all do.

I will always be grateful his compare and contrast pieces, particularly baseball v football and dogs v cats. But I laughed myself into tears over the thing he did about "stuff" (as in: my stuff is fabulous, yours is crab) and how when we leave the house we must always bring a subset of our stuff with us, etc. He will be missed.

"More observant of the falicies of man than I will ever be."

HA! What about the fallacies of your spelling?
George Carlin wasn't observant of man's "fallacies". Observant means that he respected them. He didn't respect them at all, which is what made him so funny - he mocked them.

I miss him already!

As you may or may not have noticed from some of my other posts, I care little for proper spelling.

P.S being observant and having respect have nothing to do with one another.

Observant
Respect

Please compare and contrast.

In homage to Carlin, I did compare and contrast (albeit the lazy way using word's "review" capabilities). And now the results:

falicies v fallacies
winner is fallacies for spelling

observant as to respect v observant as to notice
winner in to notice

So, you both lose and you both win. However, Orb gets extra style points for not having initiated the brawl. I must add that I have a soft spot in my heart for each of you because I frequently mispell (see: is it misspell or is it mispel or maybe it's Ms. Spel) and misconstrue (see: is it misconstrew or maybe Ms. Constroo) precise word usage (or would it more straightforwardly be to use the wrong word) and happily award each of you extra points for displaying arrogance even when wrong (though I'm never wrong so I can't quite identify there). Still, Orb's ahead with his nice shiny style points. Now I want you both to go off and diagram that sentance and report back to us all as to whether it was in fact a sentance (see: is it sentance or is it sentence or is it merely time in prison for being a smart a$$ in which case I'll enjoy the company of both of you as we serve our terms). Now get diagramming (or is it diagraming.........)

By the way Merry, it is "diagram that sentence" not sentance :-)

Thank you, Kathie. And I wish I could promise to remember, but probably more even than Orb I have a dismal relationship with spelling. And, for someone who shoots her mouth off as much I like to, it's a problem. Ah well, into each life a little rain must fall. Roll Eyes
