I am a 23-year-olg guitar player looking to put a progressive rock band in the vein of anything from Yes, Rush, Dream Theater, Opeth etc. I am very open minded to playing other styles of music too. I do NOT, however, want to play radio-style rock like Nickleback or emo. Unless you have professional playing ability and gear and are under the age of 35 please do not answer. Also, please do not answer unless you are serious about playing music. call (202) 215-8763 if interested.
Check my ad, 'MUST FUNK,' on this board for all the details of what I'm looking for in a guitar player. If FUNK happens to be one of the styles you'd consider, we may have something to talk about.
One caution, I am an 'old guy' by your standards (41). And the guys I play with are even older, but we've been around the local gig circuit and if we're anything... we're serious about music. I'm probably too serious, but serious means getting it right and gigging professionally, with return business. Reply to jvanhall1@nycap.rr.com - tell me about your chops and your attitude; if you have any funk, I may be interested in auditioning you.
I totally would be dowm with playing funk but I am looking to play with younger guys unfortunately. Thanks for the interest. Good luck to you on your funky escapades. -Jack
