Adirondack Broadcast Association to Host Battle of the Bands; (PARKWAY MUSIC SPONSORS BATTLE OF THE BANDS) Club Seeks Entries from Local Bands (Feb. 07, 2007) - QUEENSBURY - The Adirondack Broadcasting Association (ABA) is inviting local bands to compete in a Battle of the Bands at Northern Lights in Clift on Park onSunday, March 18, at 1 p.m.

The ABA, an official student club at Adirondack Community College, will host the event. Local bands performing original music are invited to submit digital student files in .mp3 formats for consideration. Interested bands can email a brief narrative of their band’s music genre and member biographies along with the .mp3 recording to bandbattle07@yahoo.com.

The entry fee is $50 per band. A panel of guest judges will evaluate the performances and prizes will be awarded for the best acts. The top three acts will be invited to perform an opening set at SuperJam at the Glens Falls Civic Center in April.

The deadline for bands to apply for participation in Battle of the Bands is March 10.

Local music fans are encourage to attend Battle of the Bands to enjoy this showcase of talent and cheer for their favorite band. General admission for adults ages 18 and older is $5.

Northern Lights, located on Route 146 in Clifton Park, bills itself as “the Capital Region’s premiere concert venue,” hosting live music shows featuring local, regional and national music acts.
